This year, consent for school vaccinations will be managed through the new MAVIS system (Manage Vaccination In Schools). MAVIS will contact you directly by email and text message to request consent, usually around 3 weeks before the vaccination date, with a further reminder approximately 1 week before if needed. We will be visiting Risley on Friday 2nd October 2026 & Thursday 19th November 2026 Please ensure your contact details held by the school are up to date so that you receive these messages. The Local School Vaccination Team will be visiting your child’s school during Autumn/Winter 2026 to offer the nasal flu vaccine (with an option for a porcine-free injection) to Reception – Year 6 Please complete the online e-consent form to indicate whether you wish your child to receive the flu vaccination. 👉 Even if you do not wish for your child to have the vaccine, please complete the form as a decline, so we can update your child’s health record accordingly. We are excited to invite children to take part in our House Logo Design Competition for our four houses: Tota, Bruce, Lea and Lilywhite. Children should design their logo on the attached document. The logo should: 🎨 Use colours, symbols, animals or images that represent their house ✏️ Be clear, simple and easy to recognise 🏫 Be suitable for use on badges, certificates and school displays Please make sure each entry includes your child’s name, class and house, and is handed to Ms Josephs by Wednesday 23rd September. We look forward to seeing lots of creative and imaginative designs!

Dear Parents and Carers Throughout the school year, we work in partnership with GEMHS (Good Emotional Mental Health Support), a specialist team who deliver sessions to classes and small groups across a range of important topics. Their work supports pupils’ wellbeing, confidence and safety, and complements the curriculum already taught in school. GEMHS sessions may include themes such as social media safety, confidence building, emotional regulation, healthy friendships, and resilience. These workshops are designed to be engaging, age‑appropriate and supportive, helping pupils develop the skills they need to navigate both school life and the wider world. All pupils take part unless parents/carers choose to opt out. If you do not wish your child to participate in GEMHS sessions this year, please let the school know by contacting the office. Children can collect sponsorships for their reading and should return their sponsorship form and money by 6th November. Our after-school clubs start this week, so please make sure you sign up if you would like your child to take part. Please see the attached timetable for details of the clubs available this term. Please note that the following clubs are now FULL: Cycling Football Research Club Game Masters Dance For health and safety reasons, and to ensure that we maintain the required staff-to-child ratios, each club has a limited number of places. Depending on the activity, clubs will have between 10–15 places available. If you have requested a place on a free club, you will receive a message shortly to confirm whether a place is available for your child.

The rescheduled Summer Fair is going ahead on Friday 25th September, 3:15–5:30pm! All the same fun, including bouncy castles, raffle, arts & crafts, food and drink, and much, much more! 💗 See you there! 🥳 More details to follow later this week.

Our Meet the Parent sessions will take place on Monday 7th September 2026 for families from Year 1 to Year 6. It is important that children return to school on this day so that parents/carers have the opportunity to attend the session, meet their child’s new teacher, learn about expectations for the year ahead, and find out about the plans and priorities for their child’s class.
