It is so hard to believe that it is the Summer Holiday already – the year has just flown by! The children have been truly fantastic and are a credit to us all. They have worked incredibly hard and a relaxed break is very well deserved. We would also like to thank you as parents and carers once again for your brilliant support. Some of us will be heading to pastures new or beginning new adventures. Year 6 - be bold, be brave, be you! We hope that you have a wonderful Summer Holiday and we look forward to seeing you all back at school on Thursday 3rd September. Here are 50 fun things to do to help you make some special summer memories together as a family! Let's hope we have LOTS of sunshine!

Sports Day, Picnic and Summer Fayre arrangements
Alford Primary School
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are excited to see you at Sports Day tomorrow (16th July 2026), from 10am until approximately 1pm.
To avoid any congestion please enter school via the field gate or the main playground gate. Gates will be opened at approximately 9:50am
Don’t forget to ask your child what track they will be on – don’t worry if they can’t remember, someone at the gate will be able to advise.
Following the event, children will return to their classrooms, and parents or nominated person will then be able to collect them from their classroom doors at 1:10pm to enjoy a picnic together on the field. The collection and lunch information you provided for the previous date still stand, unless you have informed us of any changes.
Please note that once you have collected your child from their classroom, they will be your responsibility for the remainder of the day. Children not collected will remain with their class teacher, until the end of the school day and After school club will run as normal.
We are also excited for this year’s FOS Summer Fayre, which will take begin at 1.30pm. We would love for families to stay after the picnic and enjoy the Summer Fayre with their children.
Thank you for your continued support,
Alford Primary School
Lost Property
Alford Primary School
Dear Parents/Careers,
We have a large amount of un-named uniform on a table outside of the school office.
If your child is missing any clothing, please feel free to take a look and take what you believe belongs to your child.
At the end of the term any leftover uniform will be washed and added to our preloved shop.
Sports Day Collection
Alford Primary School
Dear all Parents and Carers,
We are having enquires in regards to collection times for Sports Day and the Summer Fayre tomorrow. A parent hub will be sent out this afternoon with all the final arrangements.
Just to clarify in the meantime. Children can be collected after 1:10pm from their classrooms to visit the fayre with parents/carers. This is for safeguarding purposes as all children will need to return to their classrooms to be registered before being signed out. Children cannot be collected prior to this time.
We are all really excited for tomorrow and to spend the day together as a whole school community.
Best Wishes,
Alford Primary School

There are significant updates to the food standards that schools MUST adhere to in September.
This includes what we are able to serve and provide for our children in order to maintain a healthy balanced diet. Therefore you may notice some changes to the menus to reflect this.
Please see the attached letter for more information, alongside guidance for Packed lunches.
Thank you for your support and understanding in this matter.
