Pick Up Today

If you are collecting your child at 2.15pm or 3.15pm, please collect them from your child's usual pick up point.
Outside of these times, you will need to go to the front gate and ring the bell and we will collect them from the class for you.
Free Holiday Club

Trinity Church are running a free holiday club for primary-aged children 1st-3rd September, which may be of interest to some of our families.

Ice lollies will be on sale in the mail playground, priced at £1 each and can be purchased with cash or card (using a QR code).
School Menu Changes This Week

We have been informed by the school kitchen of a couple of changes to the school menu this week.
On Wednesday 22nd July, the main meal options will be chicken goujon wrap and veggie dippers (instead of roast dinner).
On Thursday 23rd July, the main meal options will be pizza, sandwiches and rocket lollies for dessert.

Summer Reading Challenge at Buxton Library

This years’ Summer Reading Challenge has been launched with the theme Read to the Beat. The Challenge runs from 4th July – 5th September 2026 and the purpose is to read any six library books during the summer holidays. Children can take part at any stage during the school holidays.
Children are encouraged to visit the library to pick up a starter pack, receive a sticker for each book that is read, and once all six books have been read, they will receive a medal and a certificate. Anybody who brings their medal/certificate into school in September will receive 10 bonus stamps on their Reading Stamp card!
Buxton Library, also have some fun craft sessions running throughout August at all free & all welcome – please see pdf attached for dates.

Our last day of the academic year is Thursday 23rd July.
We will be open until 3.15pm as usual on the last day but in line with Junior School's earlier finish, you will be able to collect your child from the earlier time of 2.15pm if you prefer.
Mrs Boyd's Farewell Assembly

Just a reminder that everyone is invited to come to our Farewell Assembly for Mrs Boyd next Tues (21st July). Gate will open at 2pm
Each year group will be performing a song/poem and there will be presentations from the children and PTA.

REMINDER: PTA AGM Today!

This is a quick reminder it is our PTA AGM today at 9.10am. This will take place in Playdays room. If you know where that is, you can head straight there. Otherwise, come to the school office and we will show you where to go.
All parents, carers and members of the local community are invited and we would love to see as many parents/carers as possible there, whether you have supported our PTA as a member or as an attendee at our events this year or if you would just like to hear more about what we don. Everyone is invited!
This is an incredibly important meeting that is required to fulfil our obligations as a charity. It is imperative we have as many members of our school community as possible in attendance so please do attend if you can.
Please come along even if your child is moving on at the end of this year as it is a chance for us to celebrate and reflect on our achievements over the last year. If your child is joining us in September, we would also love to see you and you can learn more about what we do and how you can get involved.

Good morning,
As we approach the end of the academic year, please take a few minutes to read the attached letter for our PTA Chair, Caitlin Nicholson.
On Friday 17th July, our PTA will be holding their Annual General Meeting. This will take place at 9.10am at school, straight after reading together. All parents, carers and members of the local community are invited.
This is an incredibly important meeting that is required to fulfil our obligations as a charity. It is imperative we have as many members of our school community as possible in attendance so please do attend if you can. We welcome everyone, regardless of any prior involvement in the PTA, and it would be lovely to see some new faces.
Please come along even if your child is moving on at the end of this year as it is a chance for us to celebrate and reflect on our achievements over the last year. If your child is joining us in September, we would also love to see you and you can learn more about what we do and how you can get involved.
During the meeting, we will be electing for the following roles:
- Chair
- Treasurer
- Secretary
If you would like to take on any of these roles, please contact the School Office. We would also be happy to chat with anyone who wants to learn more.

Free School Meals

From September 2026 all families who are in receipt of Universal Credit will also be eligible for free school meals.
As you know, as part of our admissions process into Buxton Infant School we ask all families to complete the free school meal checker even if you think you are not eligible as sometime you will meet the criteria even if you don't believe you are. Eligibility can also attract Pupil Premium, which is additional funding for the school which enables us to support families in appropriate ways with things like school uniform and school trips to name just a few.
Please see post card attached with gives you the links/QR code/telephone number to the checking team who will be able to check your application.

Our Buxton Infant School Summer Raffle continues!
Your child will come home tonight with a booklet of 5 raffle tickets. We are asking families to try to sell the tickets to help us raise funds for our PTA. The tickets are priced at £1 each (£5 for a booklet of 5). Ticket stubs and unsold tickets should be returned to school no later than Wednesday 15th July.
