Hello, We’d like to warmly welcome any parents and carers to come for an informal coffee morning to find out more about our PTA and events we are hoping to run this year, starting with our Autumn Disco on Tuesday 20th October. The coffee morning will take place on Thursday 24th September in the Play days room (next to Seahorses), so come along, enjoy a cuppa and a cake, meet some friendly faces and we’d welcome any ideas and support you can offer, but there is no obligation to take on any commitments. Last year we had lots of success with events ranging all the way from Teddy Bear’s Picnics to Wonka Bars with discos, raffles and our Christmas Elfridges alongside. The children love them and the vital funds raised go straight back into funding trips, activities and resources the children can enjoy in school. We know time is precious but our school community has always thrived on the wonderful support we receive from parents, grandparents and carers so please do pop along if you can. We look forward to seeing you!

You will notice that we have decided to make our two Carer Events open to an adult of your choice and have moved the timing of them to the afternoons so that most children can leave with their adult at the end of the day, hopefully leading to less tears. Congratulations to the golden ticket winners this term! They have consistently demonstrated the Buxton Infant School Golden Rules this term and were rewarded with an ice lolly treat with Mrs Boyd.

If you are collecting your child at 2.15pm or 3.15pm, please collect them from your child's usual pick up point. Outside of these times, you will need to go to the front gate and ring the bell and we will collect them from the class for you.

Trinity Church are running a free holiday club for primary-aged children 1st-3rd September, which may be of interest to some of our families. Please see attached flyer for further information.

We have been informed by the school kitchen of a couple of changes to the school menu this week. On Wednesday 22nd July, the main meal options will be chicken goujon wrap and veggie dippers (instead of roast dinner). On Thursday 23rd July, the main meal options will be pizza, sandwiches and rocket lollies for dessert.

This years’ Summer Reading Challenge has been launched with the theme Read to the Beat. The Challenge runs from 4th July – 5th September 2026 and the purpose is to read any six library books during the summer holidays. Children can take part at any stage during the school holidays. Children are encouraged to visit the library to pick up a starter pack, receive a sticker for each book that is read, and once all six books have been read, they will receive a medal and a certificate. Anybody who brings their medal/certificate into school in September will receive 10 bonus stamps on their Reading Stamp card! Buxton Library, also have some fun craft sessions running throughout August at all free & all welcome – please see pdf attached for dates. Happy Reading!

Our last day of the academic year is Thursday 23rd July. We will be open until 3.15pm as usual on the last day but in line with Junior School's earlier finish, you will be able to collect your child from the earlier time of 2.15pm if you prefer.

Just a reminder that everyone is invited to come to our Farewell Assembly for Mrs Boyd next Tues (21st July). Gate will open at 2pm Each year group will be performing a song/poem and there will be presentations from the children and PTA. Looking forward to seeing you there

This is a quick reminder it is our PTA AGM today at 9.10am. This will take place in Playdays room. If you know where that is, you can head straight there. Otherwise, come to the school office and we will show you where to go. All parents, carers and members of the local community are invited and we would love to see as many parents/carers as possible there, whether you have supported our PTA as a member or as an attendee at our events this year or if you would just like to hear more about what we don. Everyone is invited! This is an incredibly important meeting that is required to fulfil our obligations as a charity. It is imperative we have as many members of our school community as possible in attendance so please do attend if you can. Please come along even if your child is moving on at the end of this year as it is a chance for us to celebrate and reflect on our achievements over the last year. If your child is joining us in September, we would also love to see you and you can learn more about what we do and how you can get involved.

Tomorrow is the last day to return your summer raffle tickets! Please bring any stubs and money to the school office before the end of the day tomorrow. The draw will take place on Friday 17th July.
